1 - Non-refundable processing fee, per person, charged only when the application is sent by mail or delivered by a third party other than an immediate member of the applicant’s family (sibling or parent). Handling fee does not cover cost of postage.
 
2 - Due to reciprocity of treatment, U.S. Citizens are charged an additional non-refundable processing fee.
 
3 - Additional: US$30.00 fee applies to nationals from certain countries who are not holders of a green card. Click here to view the list of countries.
 
Laissez-passer fee: Visas will be issued on a laissez-passer travel document to individuals from the Central African Republic and Taiwan. In such cases, a US$80.00 fee per laissez-passer applies, in addition to the fee of the visa being issued.

Method of payment

The Consulate General of Brazil in Chicago ONLY accepts payments in the form of a Money Order issued by the United States Postal Service (USPS), payable to the “Consulate General of Brazil in Chicago”.
 Personal checks, credit cards, or any other forms of payment are not accepted.
