Applicants who have visited certain countries and territories within 90 days prior to entering Brazil are recommended to present a Yellow Fever International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV), known as the Yellow Card, upon entering Brazil.
 
The Yellow Card is recognized internationally and is required for entry to certain countries where there are increased health risks for travelers. The Yellow Card should be kept in the visa holder's passport in order to serve as a medical passport of sorts.
 



The Yellow Card is RECOMMENDED for individuals who have visited any of the following countries and territories within 90 days prior to entering Brazil:
 
Angola, Benin, Bissau Guinea, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colombia, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, French Guiana, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guiana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Rwanda, Sao Tome & Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Surinam, Tanzania, Togo, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, Venezuela.
 
The Yellow Fever vaccination is also recommended for travelers who intend to visit rural areas in any of the following states in Brazil: 
 
Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Federal District, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, Tocantins.
