This concert will be the closing night of the 09 Latino Music Festival featuring the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos and Tom Jobim, two monumental names in the music of the 20th century, classical or popular.
Brazilian arranger and conductor Flavio Chamis introduces the audience to the fascinating woel of the two greatest musicians from his country, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Antonico Carlos Jobim.
Also, legendary Brazilian pianist Paulo Sauer will take part on the show. For many years Mr. Sauer play piano for Chico Buarque, one of the giants of Brazilian music. In this concert he joins some of the top Chicago musicians such a s Jim Gailloreto (sax), Steve Eissen (flute), Jeb Bishop (trombone), Donale Neale (piano), Ernie Adams (drums) and Erich Hochberg (bass). Special guest: Neusa Sauer (vocals).
A pre-concert reception will be hosted next to the Claudia Cassidy Theatre.
The event his presented in cooperation with the Consulate General of Brazil in Chicago and AARP.
